First Presbyterian Youth is for students in 6th through 12th grade. We meet weekly on Wednesday night for middle school youth group and high school Bible Study. Wednesday afternoon the youth group is open for those who want to “hang out” in the youth room after school until Wednesday Night Supper.
There are also special events planned throughout the year that involve study, fellowship & fun, service, and worship.
Each summer there are opportunities for mission trips and other exciting events.
The summer of ’07 the high school group went to Yucatan, Mexico and the middle school group went to Dungannon, VA on mission trips.
Every Monday Carter sends out an e-newsletter which includes a youth calendar and gives information about exciting upcoming events. If you would like to read recent e-newsletters please click here.

Mexico June 25th – July 6th 2007
June 26, 2007: Sixteen people from First Presbyterian Church Hendersonville, embarked on an amazing journey. Flights were delayed and there were some boarding pass mishaps, but all of them made it to Merida, Mexico. Upon arrival, the group was escorted to where they would be spending the next 10 days. While in Mexico the group woke up early, worked hard and worshiped the Lord. The group had several days off from work. On these days they went to Chichen-Itza and to a Cenote(an underground waterhole). They also had the opportunity to visit a church in Merida and worship with the people there. The last few days of the trip, the group spent some time in Progreso. They had the opportunity to walk to the beach, shop at the markets, fellowship with friends from the church(where they were staying), or just relax. On July 6, 2007, it was time to go home. The group woke up very early in the morning to catch an early flight out of Merida. While driving home from Atlanta the church van blew a tire and punctured a coolant line. The van was rendered useless and everyone’s parents had to come and pick them up from Commerce, Georgia. Fortunately, everyone made it back to Hendersonville safely!!

Dungannon Mission Trip Page
July 16, 2007: nine people from First Presbyterian Church Hendersonville, embarked on an incredible journey. On the way to Dungannon the group stopped to eat at Taco Bell. The group also went to a waterfall and swam in extremely cold water. Once the group arrived at the site where they would be spending the next week, everyone was directed to where they could put their belongings. There were three rooms on site. One room for the girls, one room for the boys and one room for the staff. There were nearly 100 people at this site, so living conditions were crowded. While in Dungannon the group woke up early, worked hard and worshiped the Lord. The group also learned to tolerate eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches each day for lunch. Each person from the group was assigned a team color. Each team was sent to a different site to do things such as paint/stain decks, plumbing repair, roof/floor repair and Vacation Bible School. During the groups’ free time one day, they made a trip to the happening place in town, Dollar General! At the end of the week, everyone was tired but excited about things that happened throughout the week. On July 21, 2007, the group woke up early and cleaned the boys room, because that is what they were assigned to clean before they left. After the room was spotless, the group was on their way back to Hendersonville!!
