The Referral Process

A person - you, a relative, or a friend - is experiencing difficult times and could benefit from Christian care.

A Stephen Ministry Referrals Coordinator learns about this need for care - from the clergy, the person, or a friend, but always with the person's permission.

The Referrals Coordinator meets with the person to talk about Stephen Ministry.

With the person's permission, the Referrals Coordinator assigns a Stephen Minister to meet with the person.

The Stephen Minister provides distinctively Christian and strictly confidential care for the person on a regularly scheduled basis, usually weekly.

Stephen Ministers meet twice monthly for peer group supervision, a forum through which the Stephen Ministers receive support and advice, while maintaining strict confidentiality.
